What is a Cystoscopy?

A cystoscopy is a procedure that allows specialists to examine the bladder and urethra using a thin, flexible camera (cystoscope). It is used to diagnose conditions such as urinary tract infections (UTIs), bladder stones, tumors, and signs of bladder cancer.

Types of Cystoscopy:

  • Flexible Cystoscopy – A quick, minimally invasive examination under local anesthesia.
  • Rigid Cystoscopy – A more detailed procedure that may involve biopsies or treatment, usually performed under sedation or anesthesia.
