What is Parkinson’s Disease?
Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition caused by the loss of dopamine-producing cells in the brain. It affects movement, speech, cognition, and mood over time. While there is currently no cure, specialist rehabilitation can dramatically improve day-to-day functioning and confidence.

- Slowness of movement (bradykinesia)
- Freezing episodes
- Postural instability and falls
- Speech and swallowing difficulties
- Cognitive and emotional challenges
- Fatigue and sleep disturbances
Our Parkinson’s Rehabilitation Programmes Include:
- Physiotherapy Improves balance, posture, gait, and strength using evidence-based interventions such as cueing, treadmill training, and functional movement re-education.
- Occupational Therapy Supports patients in maintaining independence at home and in daily activities—e.g., dressing, washing, eating, and hobbies.
- Speech and Language Therapy Helps with voice projection, clarity of speech, swallowing safety, and non-verbal communication strategies.
- Neuropsychology and Emotional Support Managing anxiety, depression, and cognitive challenges through compassionate counselling and neuropsychological input.
- Medication Optimisation Consultant oversight to review and support medical treatment in conjunction with therapy goals.
