A Tailored Approach
A multidisciplinary team assesses each patient’s needs at the outset, with assessment a continuous process. Additional requirements can be identified, or your therapy updated as progress is made.
This can include practical training, such as in our on site kitchen. Physiotherapists may work with you to improve joint range, overall movement, or posture.
The rehabilitation technology we have in house can be helpful. Elements are designed to improve hand movement, coordination, or focus, important aspects of occupational therapy.
Every hour of support is geared towards helping you live the best possible life at home, work, or in a social setting. Understanding your day to day participation in activities matters, along with your wishes to do more.
Our occupational therapists look beyond symptoms, to hopes and aspirations. For the activities you do each day and the challenges you would like to face.
Meeting Objectives
Whatever the barrier, the objective we share with our patients is to look beyond apparently optimal levels, to what can be achieved through:
-
Personal Support
Applying a patient’s therapy programme to them and their lives, rather than following preset methodology.
-
Looking Forwards
Giving people a renewed sense of purpose, new opportunities and changing the way they feel about the future.
-
Being Positive
Improving confidence and wellbeing, which is the best way to ensure that each day brings further progress.
Our rehabilitation centre is equipped with every form of support, although there can be times where we visit a patient’s home, or workplace. To suggest changes and as importantly, to share their experiences.
Therapy At The Royal Bucks
We offer inpatient and outpatient therapy, for as long as you require. Our skilled occupational therapy team listen carefully to you and those you trust, perhaps the most important part of assessing needs and wishes.
Whether they involve change in life, work, or play, the emphasis is on independence and what you can do, rather than looking at the opposite.
We like to think our team inspire patients but in reality, they inspire us. The improvements our patients make can be remarkable, their will power taking them beyond plans on paper, to truly changing their lives.
People are unique and there is no set change. we have seen patients return to professions, or others learn how to care for themselves, rather than being reliant Our team understand that both of those can be equally important.
