Meeting Broad Needs
An anti-gravity environment allows lower extremity injuries to rehabilitate without pain. Levels of stress to joints and muscles in damaged areas are reduced.
This can benefit people with restricted movement due to stroke, neurological conditions, previous surgery, or orthopaedic conditions. In each case, they feel safe and supported, they are able to experience normal movement in a way that would otherwise not be possible.
By defying gravity, they work towards regaining function and achieving personal goals. Throughout their individual programmes, the exercise they take feels normal, rather than disjointed.
Whilst direct effects are on lower limbs, movement is encouraged in other areas such as the trunk, cardiovascular stimulation is evident. Where movement is restricted, anti-gravity therapy is a leading approach to improving all round health, alongside specific needs.
Complete Control
Our anti-gravity machine goes beyond allowing free movement. Weight levels can be set to anywhere between 20% and 100%, with 1% increments. Ongoing monitoring is built in, so people can see the change from session to session and map improvement.

Building Confidence
As you begin to trust your ability to run, or walk for longer, recovery happens at a quicker rate. Your wish to continue is a natural reaction.
-
Adaptable Therapy
Activities can be configured to suit each patient’s level of physical impairment and targets, to gradually build mobility and wider body strength.

A Safe Option
Bad habits are replaced by natural, safe motion. By moving with a fluid, even gait, the risk of further injury, or slower healing are reduced.
Being able to maintain a normal stride and to monitor performance are key parts of recovery, on a facility which is designed to encourage progress.
Starting Anti-Gravity Therapy
We normally ask people to take part in an individual assessment, by a multidisciplinary team. This helps to ensure that anti-gravity therapy is a good option for you and identifies other options, which may bring additional benefit.
Even where your mobility is quite restricted, our team are at hand to help you into the anti-gravity machine and provide personal advice. The controls are clear and intuitive, you will soon be used to practical requirements, although we are still there to help.
People who come to our rehabilitation centre value the individual support, along with the ability to move in a way which just feels normal. Their physical progress and wellbeing a source of pleasure, thanks to a remarkable piece of technology.
