Dr. Mittal obtained his medical degree from Agra University, India, in 2006. He pursued specialist training in the UK, completing internal medicine in Sheffield before undertaking advanced gastroenterology training in Oxford.
In 2022, he was admitted to the GMC’s Specialist Register in Gastroenterology & General Internal Medicine. He currently holds NHS consultancy positions at Oxford University Hospitals while also practicing at the Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital.
Known for his compassionate approach, Dr. Mittal provides expert care for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. He performs approximately 2,000 upper and lower endoscopic procedures annually and is a nationally accredited bowel cancer screening colonoscopist, recognised for his high-quality work.
When treatment is required, Dr. Mittal prioritises patient-centred care, ensuring the most effective path to recovery.
Research & Teaching
Dr. Mittal is actively involved in research on inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer. As an endoscopy trainer, he plays a key role in mentoring the next generation of gastroenterologists while also contributing to his profession on a national scale.
He serves as the Regional Representative for Oxfordshire on the British Society of Gastroenterology Clinical Services and Standards Committee. Additionally, his role as Regional Specialty Adviser for the Royal College of Physicians further strengthens his impact in the field.
