Dr Karanovic qualified in medicine from University College London in 2009. Her specialist training took place in Brighton and in the West Midlands, including dermatological research.
The GMC added Dr Karanovic to their specialist register for dermatology in 2020. A consultancy post at Oxford University Hospitals followed, supporting patients with a wide range of skin conditions.
Dr Karanovic is experienced in the treatment of acne, atopic dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, skin tags, verrucae and warts. Her areas of special interest include benign, or malignant skin lesions and treating diseases which affect the hair.
She runs the Oxford Regional Hair Service and has in depth knowledge on types of alopecia, or inflammatory conditions, such as Discoid Lupus Erythematosus. Dr Karanovic’s support in these areas is invaluable to our patients.
The care she offers is a fine reflection of a dermatologist’s need to consider medical and aesthetic outcomes. A principle which Dr Karanovic believes is important, whatever condition she is treating.
Our patients find her approach to their concerns helpful and effective, focused on individual solutions to see life return to normal.
Research & Teaching
Dr Karanovic’s research articles are wide ranging, including the management of eczema, local anaesthetics and their potential complications, hair loss, multiple basal cell carcinoma and Sneddon’s syndrome (an arterial disorder).
She has written for national dermatology publications on areas such as alopecia, along with authoring papers on rosacea and immune system disorders.
