Dr Train qualified in medicine in 1995, at the University of London. His studies included a BSc in Neuroscience, which added understanding of the central nervous system and brain function, contributing to his chosen path.
After specialist training, Dr Train was admitted to the GMC’s register of clinical radiologists in 2004. Consultant posts include serving as a lead GI and GU radiologist, with a focus on multi-parametric MRI prostate scans and MRI staging of rectal cancer.
Dr Train specialises in gastrointestinal and urological imaging, prostate scans and neurological radiology. His expertise in interpreting images, particularly to detect, or exclude cancer, brings great value to his patients.
Accuracy is equally valuable to Dr Train’s colleagues, who may go on to treat, or operate on those patients. Their respect for his insightful view helps to bring confidence in treatment decisions and on putting them into action.
The contribution Dr Train brings to overall care is vital, as is his wish to remember that each image is a person, to be cared for.
Research & Teaching
Dr Train has contributed to several book chapters, on rectal and colon cancer, along with the use of whole body MRI scanning in colorectal cancer.
Published papers he contributed to include research on the effectiveness of multidisciplinary management for colorectal cancer and gastrointestinal cancer, together with multimodal treatment of rectal cancer.
