Mr Rodriguez initially obtained a Masters degree in chemistry, at Oxford University. The field of medicine became his passion and he graduated from The Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry (Exeter & Plymouth Universities) in 2010.
Surgical training followed, in Bristol, Southampton, and Oxford, along with experience in treating vascular disorders. Mr Rodriguez entered the GMC’s specialist register for Vascular Surgery in 2021.
Consultancy appointments followed in the Thames Valley area. Mr Rodriguez working alongside other specialists in multidisciplinary environments, offering complex open surgery and supporting individual patients.
He provides wide ranging treatment for varicose veins, including minimally invasive therapies such as radiofrequency ablation, or ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy, along with surgery.
Other areas of significant interest to Mr Rodriguez include carotid disease, aortic aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease, lower limb revascularisation and management of diabetic foot disease.
Mr Rodriguez works with vascular scientists to deliver a one stop diagnostic service at The New Foscote and Royal Buckinghamshire hospitals, offering prompt diagnosis and treatment to our patients.
Research & Teaching
Mr Rodriguez has published in numerous peer reviewed journals, along with presenting at international and national surgical conferences.
He has written book chapters on the impact of peripheral arterial disease and vascular interventions in peripheral arterial disease. His research includes the safety of carotid endarterectomy in elderly patients.
Mr Rodriguez has also assisted the Vascular Society of Great Britain & Ireland and James Lind Alliance, in setting priorities to guide future research into carotid conditions within the UK.
Training and supporting the next generation of surgeons is equally important to Mr Rodriguez. He interviews for higher specialty training in vascular surgery and is an accredited examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
