Mr Louis qualified in medicine in 2001, from the United Examination Board, through the Society of Apothecaries with Barts and the London Medical School.
An early decision to focus on obstetrics and gynaecology saw him train at leading centres for women’s health, such as Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital. Further training coming through the East of England Deanery.
In 2010, Mr Louis undertook a PhD at Imperial College London. His research considered the role of the OPCML tumour suppressor gene in ovarian cancer, adding understanding on a quite prevalent gynaecologic malignancy.
Mr Louis was admitted to the GMC’s Specialist Register for Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2016. Ensuing consultancy posts include serving as Lead Clinician for Gynaecological Oncology at a respected hospital trust.
Continuing to offer his patients up to date treatment is important to Mr Louis. He has completed advanced training in gynaecological oncology, colposcopy and minimal access surgery, for procedures such as laparoscopic hysterectomy.
Part of his wish to ensure that patients receive the finest care possible, so they can return to good health and normal life.
Research & Teaching
Mr Louis has authored a specialist book chapter, along with publications in peer reviewed journals and has conducted a number of lectures internationally.
Research projects he has been involved in focus on improving women’s health. They include targeted therapy in ovarian, or breast cancer and the relationship between infertility treatment and gynaecological cancers.
