Mr Marek graduated in medicine from Charles University in Prague, in 1992. His career focused on surgery at an early stage, including senior posts in orthopeadic departments and a constant wish to acquire further skills.
This took Mr Marek to the orthopaedics department of a university hospital in Paris, to train under Professor Jean-Yves Alnot. Over two decades in the UK, he has continued to seek up to date knowledge at national and international level, to benefit his patients.
Mr Marek was added to the GMC’s specialist register for trauma and orthopaedic surgery in 2005. His special interests include hip, or knee surgery, along with hand surgery and treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hip.
A surgeon with considerable experience of total hip and knee replacement is valuable to our patients, as is the understanding this brings of wider conditions.
An understanding Mr Marek is pleased to share, with the medical advisory boards he sits on and his patients. He believes that sound information helps to reassure, along with the kind and caring manner he is known for.
